Tanya, also known as Tavarita, is an artist and writer based out of Austin, Texas.

While in school for Nursing, Tanya’s life was forever changed one day in 2016 when her sibling asked her what anime to watch. What started that day was a journey of rediscovery, leading to a drastic change in career for nothing other than the pursuit of authentic joy.

Since then, Tanya has been illustrating and traveling full-time, sharing her art and belief in the transformative power of story-telling with the world. Her most earnestly held belief is that the world needs who you were meant to be — in other words, one does the most good in life when they are true to themself.

A lover of shounen anime, she loves to create artwork that is lively, evocative, and fun. She has produced and participated in multiple charity zines, and is the co-host of the podcast The Shounen Protagonist. She currently can be found in Artist Alleys all over the United States, and hopes to pursue a career in tattooing.

Wherever she ends up next, her art’s ultimate goal is to inspire others to pursue their truest selves, unapologetically. When not on the road to the next convention, she can be found on her second cup of coffee, practicing Muay Thai, playing Animal Crossing, or snuggling up with her cat, Eddie.
